Naturally Native™️—Bringing Authentic Native American Food and Produce to American Families Nationwide.

Since 2019, Flower Hill Institute has consistently sought to bring Naturally Native™️ food and produce to American markets. After closely working with a multitude of tribal farmers and agriculture enterprises, Executive Director and Co-Founder of Flower Hill Institute, Roger Fragua, saw the importance of not undermining the potential and significance of naturally grown and produced Indigenous food, medicinal plants, and harvested goods.

Native Marketing and Food Brokerage

Food companies regularly utilize brokerage services to help get their products placed on retail shelves or restaurant menus. Brokerage firms with established retailer relationships with retailers and food service companies can effectively represent all kinds of brands in the marketplace without the manufacturer having to “field” an army of dedicated sales representatives. As noted in an Oklahoma State University Food Technology Fact sheet, brokers offer:

+ Knowledge of local market conditions; 

+ Existing professional relationships with buyers;

+ Overall experience in representing multiple lines of products; 

+ End-user calls; and

+ Specialization in retail grocers, food service, and specialty categories. 

Our brokerage service will operate on a contingency basis, based upon a percentage of the dollar value of orders placed by retailers, restaurants, or specialty outlets. Food brokers can also represent food businesses—and their brands—at trade shows and sales events. 

Like many brokerage agencies, Naturally Native™️ Marketing and Food Brokerage will work with tribal food businesses to develop logos, branding, marketing materials, and other resources to support the growth of those businesses and the success of their brands. 

For brands focusing strictly on regional markets, our Naturally Native™️ Marketing and Food Brokerage firm would also help establish a unique brand look and message. Through our USDA-supported National Native Food Business Center collaboration process, some businesses may produce similar products that could be “marketed nationally; produced locally.” Naturally Native™️ Marketing would help develop uniform brand standards, imagery, packaging, and other elements that will enable a broader marketing reach.
