The Indigenous Rewilding Network (IRN) is a consortium of Indigenous nations, NGOs, scientists, and individuals dedicated to rewilding at a continental scale. The Indigenous Rewilding Network emerged out of a collaboration between the Flower Hill Institute and The Buckminster Fuller Institute in 2023.
By supporting efforts of Indigenous peoples to reclaim and steward lands, and serving as a conduit for support and funding for landback initiatives and large-scale rewilding projects, we aim to rewild landscapes, build Indigenous power, reintroduce keystone species, and invite the rewilding and reinhabiting of the human soul.
Our vision is a future where vast, connected landscapes across North America are thriving under Indigenous stewardship, creating a world where humans live in balance with all life. These rewilded lands will support abundant wildlife, regenerate biodiversity, and support the wellbeing of Indigenous Nations.
