Marvin Frink, a U.S. Army veteran, and his wife established Briarwood Cattle Farm, a first-generation cattle farm. Over time, they have successfully built a healthy herd of 113 Black Angus cattle, as well as raising chickens and hogs in the pasture. Marvin's dedication to the craft led him to continuously educate himself on cattle ranching.
The next phase of development for Briarwood Cattle Farm is the establishment of Briarwood Custom Meats, LLC, a meat processing facility spanning 27,500 square feet. This facility will allow Marvin to offer processing services to his own farm and local small-scale beef and pork producers. By creating this vital link in the local and regional food system, Marvin aims to contribute to feeding America while supporting local agriculture.
MPPTA has provided Marvin with market information, helped the Frinks to develop their business plan, and to navigate the construction logistics for their business.
